The way of Khartsyzsk Tube Works started in industry in 1898 as the boiler - bridge (mechanical) plant with the capital of Belgium anonymous society. Metal constructions for the railway and river bridge, frames, crushers and tubs for mines were the first products of the plant. The first shop in Russia for the production of 16" - 18" diameter pipes by the gas and forging welding process was built in 1913. In 1920 the plant was named as Khartsyzsk Tube Works of the Makeevka Metallurgical Industrial Center of the Trust "Jugostal". The appearance of the plant is connected with the period of the industrialization. The pipe shop which was being at preservation for 16 years is being placed into operation in 1930. Till the year 1937 the plant was the only one which was producing large diameter pipes. Khartsyzsk Tube Works is allocated as an independent enterprise. During the World War II the plant was destroyed at 80%. In August 1945 the first line of Pipe Welding Shop on production of large diameter pipes from 950 mm till 1220 mm has started. The plant was delivering pipes for Moscow's and Stalingrad's water storages, to Baku's oil industry workers, Donbass' enterprises, etc. The development of the plant in 1946 - 1950 was following the path of further implementation of the up-to-date machinery and advanced technology. Under the direction of academician E.O.Paton and with his direct participation, the scientists together with the plant workers have created the experimental-industrial setting of automatic electric welding of pipes at Khartsyzsk Tube Works. In 1949 the total production of pipes was transferred to the electric welding. The reconstruction of shop was carried out with the organization of two separate technological lines (single seam and double seam) on production of pipes. The real renovation of the factory with regard to its sizes and the technological level was the erection and launching by 1974 the complex of Welding Shop ¹2, the largest in Europe for gas and oil line pipes 1220 mm and 1420 mm in diameter for the 7,5MPa working pressure applied for construction of main gas pipelines. The pipes made by this workshop were used for the construction of gas-pipelines "Urngoi-Uzhgorod", "Yamal-Western Europe", etc. Since February 1983, the production of pipes with external anticorrosion polyethylene coating was developed. Nowadays, the technological lines have been modernized for the application of three-layer coating for the pipes of the whole plant's assortment. In November 4, 2000, the new line for the production of single seam 12-meter pipes by the diameter 914-1067 mm, then redesigned to manufacture pipes 711-1220mm in diameter. In April, 2001 the construction works on main part of the new technological line for the production of single seam pipes by the diameter 711-1422 mm with the wall thickness up to 32 mm have been launched with the participation of the E.Paton EWI, the State Pipe Institute (SPI), UkrGIPROMEZ and NKMZ. In February 7, 2003 the new line for the application of internal flow anticorrosion coating. The production capacity of PJSC "Khartsyzsk Tube Works" (EWS ¹1 and EWS ¹2) equals to 1600 thous.tones per year including the new line producing 200 thous.tones per year with a single longitudinal seam, 12 m length. Welding Shop ¹4 in which the anticorrosion coating is being laid on pipe, can produce 450 - 600 thous.tones pipes with the coating. The range of products equals to more then 500 dimension-types of steel electric welded large diameter pipes from 478 till 1420 mm, and small diameter pipes also: water-gas 20 - 90 mm pipes; cold-shaped and cold-reduced 4.76-12 mm diameter pipes.
